Robert Pattinson trying to shed vampire connotations

With the release of Robert Pattinson’s new movie, Water For Elephants, can he finally break away from just being a Twilight star? That remains to be seen.
Pattinson has had several other movies hit the box office over the past few years since his debut as Edward Cullen in Twilight. Once the first movie premiered, Pattinson was instantly cast into stardom and pre-teens everywhere were in love with his vampire character.
The question is how long will it take for him to shed his vampire character and be able to be seen as a serious actor.
For now Robert is still known as that shiny vampire and Fox, smartly, realized this when they were advertising for their new movie, Water For Elephants. According to the http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/robert-pattinson-will-he-still-181086>Hollywood Reporter, Fox targeted his vampire alter-ego to help boost ticket sales on opening weekend.
Fox collaborated with a popular online Twilight website to track Pattinson’s every move and Fox strategically placed members of TwilightMOMS on the red carpet to help draw in all the Twilight fans.
As Reuters reports, Water For Elephants could have done a few things better to help make the movie a better adaption. Instead of focusing on bringing in teenage girls, they could have made the film more in-depth and riveting.
Reports say Witherspoon denied wearing certain outfits that would have made her much more sexy. The film lacks the raw emotion of the time period it is supposed to have portrayed.
All in all, it doesn’t look like Pattinson will be shedding his vampire legacy anytime soon. He has been featured in many movies, but it will take something special to really stick like Twilight has.
